Meddies' MJ Parody goes Nationwide

Image

After a very successful appearance on 96.5 TIC-FM in Hartford, the Meddies have been hearing reports of rebroadcasts of their parody of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" from across the country.

Featuring Josh Chung M'01, the Meddies rewrote the lyrics to the classic Michael Jackson hit in response to TIC-FM host Gary Craig's request for the addition of a parody to our performance on his show.

Since the original airing on WTIC-FM on March 23rd, the Meddies have heard reports of rebroadcasts of the parody from around the country. Stations reported to have rebroadcasted the Meddies recording include WIOQ-FM Q102 in Philadelphia, WWMX-FM in Baltimore, and KMXB-FM in Las Vegas, among others.

Infinity Broadcasting, which owns WTIC-FM and most of the other stations reported to have played the parody, was unavailable to confirm the reports.

The following are the rewritten lyrics as performed on TIC-FM:

I was more like a Catholic priest, Boys ten at least. Young and male is the type for me, Those are more fun. Come with me, Neverland, please don't run.

He took the stand to testify, I start to cry. See these tears, believe these lies, I was in Jackson Five! If you must, send me to Juvy Hall!

My lawyers used to tell me, Way back in '92, Don't go around touchin' young boys' parts. (wee) My mother used to tell me, Be careful who you love, Be careful who you do, 'Cause the cops will come for you.

The accuser is not my lover. He's just a boy who slept in my bed all night long. I swear I didn't touch him wrong. He said I was the one, But I swear I didn't touch him wrong.
