Meddies Take to the Radio!
Meddies Walk Away Happy from WITC Hartford
At one of our six performances yesterday the wife of a radio personality heard us sing. A quick phone call and a hasty audition later, the Meddiebempsters were set to be featured on one of New England's premiere morning talk shows, Criag & Company on 96.5 FM WTIC Hartford.
After arriving at the station a good thirty minutes early, we passed time rehearsing and generally making fun of each other before cramming into Gary Craig's studio at 8:30 to sing two songs, "Hey Ya" (featuring Tauwan Patterson M'06) and "Oh You Beautiful Doll." Our master and commander, Jack Wilkinson M'05, talked about the history and goals of the group, explaining how in addition to entertaining the Meddies seek to encourage young men to sing. Half of the performances this tour are for younger audiences.
After a short break, we followed up with a parody of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" that featured a clutch performance by Josh Chung M'01. All three members of the live studio audience were pleased.
